About Us

I am Nancy Pinkerton, am a mixed media artist who creates magical and distinctive photographs that are usually based on history, stories  and tourism.

I am originally from Canada, and have lived in Scotland since 2005. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Mount Allison University, NB, Canada and I gained an 2associate distinction from the Royal Photographic Society in 2020 for my Scottish Game of Thrones series.

One of my favourite techniques is levitation photography which was introduced to me by a friend. I decided to try this technique with a deck of cards and the only one I could find had Scottish Monarchs on them. I knew I had to do something extraordinary with them and thus began the Scottish Game of Thrones series.

Mission Statement

My mission is to create new and distinctive art photography, blending mixed media to tell enchanting stories rooted in history, tourism, and Scottish culture. Through clever and magical still life compositions, I aim to inspire individuals to explore and engage with the narratives that have shaped our world, creating a visual journey that sparks a deep connection with the past.

Vision Statement

I envision a future where people actively engage with history, unlocking their imagination and creativity to become storytellers of their own unique narratives.. I aspire to be an inspiration by employing modern techniques in art and photography to make the stories from the past more relatable and accessible, thus bridging the gap between history and contemporary life. My vision is to cultivate a society where everyone is not just a passive observer of history but an active participant.
